Worldwide Pinhole Day
B&H hosted a field trip to the Hells Kitchen Flea Market using pinhole cameras, in honor of the Worldwide Pinhole Day. While my pinhole photos are never sharp, they are always fun to create. You just have to remember that you’re taking long exposures, so a tripod is needed and most people will appear as ghosts if they appear at all. Today I used a Nikon cap with a pinhole in it in place of the lens. I’d previously used it on a film camera but never tried it with a digital camera until today. Worked fine. I’ll have to try it again with a smaller pinhole when I get a chance to make it. A smaller hole should make the photos sharper. The Hells Kitchen flea Market is open every Saturday and Sunday from sunrise to sunset. It is at 39th St between 9th and 10th Ave. It is worth the visit for the interesting antiques alone, but there are lots of other vendors there.
